How its birth came about Until the mid 80's, SPE presence in Italy was limited to few members of SPE International, working for international oil and service companies operating in our country. At that time, there was no SPE section in Italy to coordinate their activities, despite the fact that in Italy the hydrocarbon upstream has always been intense, even before the First World War.
